Do you wanna Dance?

Heyyy..
I know its been long..but there was so much happening that i just couldnt find the time to blog though i really wanted to write so much..

lemme start with my dance classes..yes i ve enrolled for the beginner's western dance classes..we will be learning jive,hip-hop,salsa,waltz..etc(sounds exciting!!)Ive already been there for about 2 weeks now and what fun it is..it feels great learning a dance form ive always manage to evade during whatever few performances i got to do..(not to mention the smart instructors which are a bonus :))
Since the day I enrolled for it, i have enjoyed each moment that i have spent there..I have always been interested in dance..but i could not not go for any training in dance for reasons best left undisclosed..
Anyway I just thought now that i have the chance to learn dance, why not?go for it...
I chose western dance as the sessions are of shorter duration..If i had gone for classical dance, it involves lot of time(we are talking years here darling)and as i already said,I hadnt gone to any classes earlier so i wasnt sure if i would want to or would be able to continue the classes in the first place..so i wanted to go for classes where i could choose to leave after sometime and still be able to say i finish upto a certain level..moreover, western is a more energetic and more 'ME' kind of a dance form..
At the moment, Im enjoying it so much that forget discontinuing,im actually thinking of extending the course or joining an advanced level class.
I strongly recommend dance classes to anybody who wants to undertake some form of exercise other than the gym.Dance is a more enjoyably done exercise and it also adds grace to ones personality.
there is lot more to dance than mere art..
so go ahead explore it, and who knows you might take a liking to it just the way I have...

(Un)Healthy Baby ???

As usual..the mom and professional both kept me busy enough all this while..not to forget the wife who is right now trying to help hubby darling get through the intial phases of MBA prep..

the mom in me was joyous when my son was adjudged the 'Healthiest Baby' in a competition organised by the the Health Services Centre and yours truly was the 'Special Mother'.A panel of 3 doctors had interviewed and observed around 30 children before making the decision.
But the happiness was shortlived as Simar was taken ill from the very next day..he has recovered only yesterday after about a week of stomach upset, vomiting and fever..
Now coming to the wifey..

My husband has been preparing for the GMAT..now that is just one teeny-weeny part of the MBA admissions process..simultaneously we also got down to going to the various b-schools and deciding upon a first list of b-schools and then shortlisting it and then re-re-re shortlisting the list until we reached a number of 5 b-schools...oh my!!what a gruelling process that is..and this is just the beginning..

we are right now at the stage of filling applications and drafting and editing of the essays..meanwhile the transcripts are also being done..in India specially that is a major process..as we all know the way college authorities react to such requests of ex-students..anyway..kaam karwana hai to kuch bhi karke karwana hi padega..so ho jayega...
thats it for now..will keep posted..

September life

Its been long since my last update..kya karen? life has been hectic and Ive been so busy in the past few days..i finally found time to update my blogspot today..
First and the most important is my baby-Simar..he is doing great..just starting to talk..he tries imitating our words and has so far been successful with 'mummy', 'baba', 'papa', 'aai', 'bottle', 'aata', 'dahi', 'dal', 'band', 'office','mum'..hey!!I never realised there was a long list...(all moms are so obsessed with their children)
Let me get to other things now,i dont know what went into the head of my husband..he just woke up one day and declared 'I am going in for MBA'..jaise ki woh koi laddu ho,ki gaye dukan par aur 100 rupaiye kilo ke bhav se le aaye..
Anyway, if he has already made up his mind, then there is no point discussing it further.
one decision made.but this decision has many sub-decisions attached to it. Where to do MBA?which B-School to go to?where to go for executive MBA or Regular MBA?
which ever you decide, you got to get back to your books coz you have to take the GMAT test..
so now i shall start a series of posts on GMAT takers' spouses coz although there are a number of posts/blogs of the GMAT takers, there are none of the spouses of the GMAT takers..so I shall diary the experiences of a GMAT taker spouse..coz as much as you need to know what it is to take a GMAT, you also need to know what the people around the GMAT takers go thru...

Simar's Bday

sorry for this late update..but i thought better late than never...my son, Simar's birthday went off well..and as i said earlier, my husband was as cool as he could be.....Simar is 15 months old and learning to speak now...he started off with 'mamma' after the boo-boos and moo-moos..and he is getting really naughty now too..the other day he dropped a whole bucket of water on himself...i guess he likes playing in water..children you know..they sometimes can be oh-so-develish and the other moment sweeter-than- angels....

My son's first birthday

my son's first birthday is approaching...

and the excitement doesnt seem to end anywhere..all relatives planning and putting in their different ideas to make the day a memorable one for all..lists of invitees being made and changed and rechanged..invitations being sent..

and the worst of all is who is going to wear what..you will get what i say when you come to know there are atleast 15 ladies who need to answer those questions...after all we need to so much time to thing of what to wear when it is our son's birthday...(of course nobody has discussed what my son is going to wear but his mom has done that for him)

and all this when both me and my husband are relocating to a different city...and just like everyone else i have been loosing sleep over how are we going to manage and my husband(as cool as ever that he is)has been asking me to cool down and relax...'Sab ho jayega'..

now frankly i dont know ki kya ho jayega aur kaise..well i have no choice but to wait and watch..

the Dichotomy of Life

I got 2 news this week..one happy and one sad..one life had taken it first steps in this world and another had left without even a notice...the joy of the birth of a friend's child had dimmed with the death of another close friend..after all how old was she??it seemed just like yesterday when we first met at out training in 2003..she was so full of life and enthusiasm..she never showed her sorrow at being away from her family and specially her little son..she had so much hope for the future..and in one blow all that was over...one fatal accident changed all that completely...

While one was leaving, another life slowly arrived into this world and filled the lives of all around with happiness and joy..chetan was so overwhelmed by her arrival..you can see tears of happiness in his eyes in the pictures..she is their bundle of joy..

this,my friend is the dichotomy of life..with sadness on one side and joy on the other..both are a part of life..you have to experience and go through both....both unavoidable..and you live on with courage to face sorrows and hoping for a better future...

May God give strength to both..tripti's family to overcome the sorrow and to Chetan to give his daughter a good upbringing and great values...
